Prince William and Kate Middleton's son, who turns two years old next weekon July 22, has been honored with a special limited edition commemorative coinproduced by England's Royal Mint.

The sterling silver 5 coin features an image of Christian martyr SaintGeorge battling the mythical dragon and was reimagined by artist Christopher LeBrun. The other side features the current portrait of George's great-grandmotherQueen Elizabeth II done by Jody Clark.

"The choice of the St. George design to honor Prince George's birthday isan apt one—the name George has long had links with the British monarchy and itscoinage, there having been six kings of that name during the Royal Mint's 1,000year history," Shane Bissett, director of commemorative coin and bullion at theRoyal Mint, said. "The choice of a silver GBP5 coin is significant too as thetradition of crossing the palm of a new born baby with silver is a way to wishthem wealth and good health throughout their life."
